Hoarding cleanup costs — guidance, not a quote
Hoarding cleanup is priced after a respectful on-site look at volume, access and sorting needs. These factors move the cost up or down.

What drives the cost
- Property size and how many rooms are affected.
- Volume of belongings and how much can be kept, donated or disposed of.
- Sorting labour when items must be reviewed carefully with the client or family.
- Disposal and tip fees, including regulated household hazardous waste where present.
- Biohazard flags if animal waste, mould/mold or other specialist waste appears — assessed on site, not assumed.
- Access: stairs, elevators, parking for removal vehicles and multi-day work.
- Deep cleaning and odour treatment / sanitisation after clutter is removed.
Insurance and payment
Whether and how much an insurer, landlord or estate covers depends on the contract and situation. Ask for a written scope before work begins.
Why there is no price list here
Two properties that look similar in photos can need very different sorting time and disposal streams, so any fixed price would be guesswork. Official waste and public-health guidance is linked below.
